Here I go...

I am somewhat muddled as I make this first post. Why you ask? Well, my confused state is all due to the fact that before today, I assumed that all who 'blogged' were cretins obsessed with the relative trivia of their own lives and who had made the fatal miscalculation in thinking that we'd all bother to read it. However, something significant has happened (no prizes for guessing what). This all started during the excitement of a free period, in which my friend persuaded/bullied me into registering under the pretence of having a 'laugh'. Well, either I have undergone a metamorphosis to become what I earlier described or (hopefully) I was wrong. So, which one is it then? A bit of both I'm sure. I would like to think that maybe I'll get something out of doing this, even if I am the only one whoever reads it (perhaps not a bad thing).

I also have little idea what I will be discussing here, so am currently at a pathetic loss for words; this is a huge anticlimax after the anticipation generated by the fun that was configuring my account to look snazzy etc.

Nonetheless, I do feel satisfied at the configuration I have arrived at. I feel it keeps a nice equilibrium between minimalism and overdoing things. If you disagree with me, my initial reaction would be one of shock: 'Oh my God, you're actually reading this!' Next, I would warmly invite you to post a comment I will relish discarding. I suppose that is the nice thing about blogging though, the whole concept is based upon individualism and our differing tastes etc.

On a final note, as I feel I've gone on enough for now, I would like to express how much I enjoyed a book entitled 'The World According To Clarkson'. It is essentially a large compilation of the well known motoring journalist's newspaper columns from the Sunday Times; however to think, as I did, that the concept of doing this was simply designed to make a fast buck, you would be wrong. When you want to relax on the sofa with something to make you laugh, and you like programmes such as Top Gear, read this book. It is jam packed with surprising facts, funny stories and Clarkson's own hilarious observations and insights into our everyday lives. In short: I recommend this book.

Well, that seems to be all; until next time...
