Phew!

Today I added another qualification of relative mediocrity to my name - Grade 5 Electronic Keyboard. The exam went better than I had anticipated, despite the fact my hands were shaking during my first few scales! Apparently it's the equivalent of a GCSE - wow! It can go on the pile with the 11 others.

I'm glad the exam is finally out the way, now I can relax... oh dear - I wish life was like that. Instead of enjoying some well earned slack, I've got some life impacting AS modules in January; and they'll need plenty of revision. I'll spare you my normal lecture, about how the education system is all wrong etc. Just think this: am I studying history, or just studying how to pass the history exam? To be trite - there is an importance difference.

On a more positive note, that 'last few days before the holidays' atmosphere has broken out at College, and there is a definite feel that things are winding down. I can't wait for the Christmas holidays, in particular I'm going to enjoy reading Susan Hill's 'The Mist in the Mirror' which I have savoured especially for the festive period. At this time last year I read her novel 'The Woman in Black' and I really can't recommend it enough - it so atmospheric and chilling! My literary interests aside, I'm going to have a good rest... before yet more exams.
